Hugg's Mission

Hugg encourages independent artists to collaborate between various mediums and build their own communities through creation.

Hugg Magazine follows a “Three A Method”:

  • Affordable
  • Approachable
  • Anti-Generative AI

Through this method, we believe art and creativity should remain a human discipline, and look to provide a platform for underrepresented, human artists.

A multitude of publications in San Francisco are at the whim of their corporate sponsors which oftentimes leads to unreliable and biased perspectives, silencing voices that should be heard. Hugg strives to be a trusted publication for the masses, independent from the bias of corporate payout. One should not have to be rich in order to participate or access the arts. Hugg readers do not merely consume, but become active participants in our mission to serve underrepresented artists.

In a time of always-changing tech and stories becoming lost online, analog media becomes a historical time capsule of participating communities.

Hugg Productions looks to unify the multitude of cultural, career, and hobbyist communities of San Francisco through free video distribution on YouTube.

We want to be a time capsule and a cultural artifact for the Bay Area and the culture we see happening, embracing differences through video and showing we’re not all that different through storytelling.

We want to bring independent film making back to the Bay Area and show San Francisco and its San Franciscans in a beautiful light.

San Francisco and the Bay Area is under scrutiny at a national level, and while a majority of mainstream media like to paint our communities in negative light, we hope through our video production to have a positive impact on the viewer’s perspective on the communities we aim to serve.
